Maylands Peninsula Primary School welcomes students from Kindergarten to Year 6 from our local intake area.

Local Intake Area

Maylands Peninsula Primary School is a Department of Education designated Local Intake School. This means we are only able to accept enrolments for students who live withing a specific residential catchment area. Please check our local intake area map to ensure you currently live in the school's catchment and are eligible to attend our school.

Supporting Documents Required to Complete an Application for Enrolment

We will need copies of all the supporting documents listed below to accept an Application for Enrolment. Please bring to the school office and we will take copies for our records or if you prefer to apply by email, please send the completed Application for Enrolment and eligibility documents to maylandspeninsula.ps@education.wa.edu.au.

  1. Current rates notice or signed lease agreement. If it is a periodical lease or private rental agreement, please provide a Statutory Declaration by the owner or agent confirming your place of residence. 
  2. Current utilities bill or official document showing parent name and current address (eg: bank statement, Synergy letter confirming connection etc).
  3. Original or Certified Copy of child's birth certificate or current passport.
  4. Child's AIR Immunisation History Statement, not older than 2 months, from Medicare(View sample). Kindergarten enrolments, please provide this at time of completing enrolment in August. Visit mygov or a Medicate office to get a copy of this statement. 
  5. If the parent or child was not born in Australia, you must also provide:
    • Australian Citizen certificate (if applicable), OR
    • Parent Visa details.
    • Parent Passport.
    • Child Visa details and Visa Grant Number.
    • Child Passport.

If the parent is on a fee paying Student Visa (for example 500, 571, 572, 573), please contact TAFE International WA on 9218 2100 before contacting the school.

Applications WILL NOT be processed until all supporting documents are provided.

Kindergarten Applications

To attend Kindergarten in 2022, your child must turn four years of age by 30 June 2022. Please note families are only permitted to apply to one WA government primary school.

Applications to attend Kindergarten in 2022 close on Friday, 23 July 2021. Applications received after this date will be considered on a case-by case basis.

If your application is successful, you will receive a placement letter by email by the end of August 2021. To accept the placement, you will need to visit the school to complete the enrolment process. When completing the enrolment for Kindergarten your child's current Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement must be within 2 months of the date of enrolment and show your child is 'up-to-date'.

Applications for children who turn four by 30 June 2023 open Monday, 2 May and close on Friday, 22 July 2022.

Kindergarten Applications

To attend Kindergarten in 2022, your child must turn four years of age by 30 June 2022. Please note families are only permitted to apply to one WA government primary school.

Applications to attend Kindergarten in 2022 close on Friday, 23 July 2021. Applications received after this date will be considered on a case-by case basis.

Once eligibility is confirmed, you will need to complete the Student Enrolment Form with all supporting documents as listed above. These can be emailed to the school or dropped in to the school administration office.

English as an Additional Language and Dialect

If your child speaks a language other than English, the school may arrange an interview with our EALD specialist teacher to determine if we are the best schooling option for your child. Please phone the school to discuss this further.

During the school year, students are usually placed in classrooms within two days of completing the enrolment process.
