Smoking Ceremony
Last Thursday, Trevor Stack from Goolamwiin performed a Smoking Ceremony on behalf of the City of Bayswater before works commence on the Gibbney Reserve redevelopment. Our students took up the opportunity to listen to Trevor speak about the significance of the Smoking Ceremony and his family's connection to the land around the Swan River and Maylands district. Kevin also sang some traditional songs whilst our students showed their respect by walking around the smoking eucalyptus leaves and balga bark.
